First set of pots for 2007

YEAH! My first set of pots came out the kiln. Special thanks to Doug and Allison at the studio. There's my second sake set. I like the colour a lot, it's Harvest Gold. It has a real Japanese look to it. Last year, I've tried many different glaze combinations. Most of them are 3 colors: 2 glazes with overlap in the middle. I need to figure some new combinations for this year's collections. This is the first one I've tried...instead of 3 colors, this one only has two colours. The whole pot was glazed with Mysterious Blue then dipped a corner with Kermit Green. A little cup with Elusive Green with mid cal 0 clay 2 small bowls with Black all around and Mysterious Blue inside with mid cal 0 clay Mom's new soap dispenser with mid cal 0 clay

First day back in the studio for 2007!

After a month not making any pots, I am finally back to it. I managed to make 3 new bowls which surprised me quite a bit. Since, I usually take a few hours to get rid of the rust (just like playing golf :)) before any decent pots. I've also glazed some pots as well. One of them was the sake container in Harvest Gold. I can't wait to see that one ready. There is also the soap dispenser for my mom. It's Ruth's b-day. Happy Birthday, Ruth! Thanks for the delicious cakes! powered by performancing firefox

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Wonderful New Year!

First snow/ice/freezing rain storm of the year

Here comes the first day of December, and the weather was terrible. Anything you can think of about Canadians' winter, we got it...snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and CRAZY DRIVERS. Today is the last day of pottery (for this year), but due to the "lovely"weather (it took over an hour to get home from work, it would normally take 20 minutes), I didn't go. Not only I've missed a studio time, I've also missed the potluck. :( Sorry, studio buddies!

Customers

Some of co-workers showed interest of my pots, so I've brought them in to work. I've made a couple of sales! Thanks Julie, Kevin E., Josee and June. Kevin E. with his new bowl! He said the bowl is a good size for having noodle, plus he likes the colour too. (It's harvest gold on brown clay)
