Big mugs, anyone?

Here we are on the last day of the month and it's time to post an update.

Luckily I was able to make some pieces in April, guess it helped with the extra long winter.  😞

I went back to brown clay again and started off with some bigger pieces (mostly bowls) and also made some deep dishes.  And yesterday I made a number of big mugs (to be) with 600g of clay and they look quite huge right now.  They will shrink a bit as they dried up.

Now that the weather is getting better....YAY 😄  Let's see how well I can keep the momentum going for the next few months.  😝

Great Bowls of Fire 2011

I was delighted to take part of the Ottawa Guild of Potters' Great Bowls of Fire . This is an annual event raising funds for the Ottawa Food Bank. I was one of the bowl markers and helped a bit of the set up. My bowls are the dark blue ones at the bottom of the picture.

January 2018 update

January 31, great day to conclude the work I've done for the first month of the year.  I guess it's also a great start to check off some items on my list for this year.  :) Here are the pieces I made in January.  I cheated a bit on one of the garlic keepers as I started that at the end of December.  Some bowls for Great Bowls of Fire were made and a number of mugs as well. Garlic keepers and soup bowls And my TODO list is getting slightly longer.  My mom asked me to make a few mugs for her friends in Hong Kong.  My parents have been great supporters of my work and this is just to show that they think that their friends might like them as well. Still need to make more to fill the kiln, but I am happy with the accomplishment so far. Mugs to be
