It has been a while since my last update...

Wow, it's already March, over 3 months since my last update. I guess it really doesn't help when pottery didn't start again until the 3rd week of January and I have been really slow on taking pictures of my new pots. Here we are in March and 2 more "classes" to go before the winter session is over. I had registered for both spring and summer sessions on the Wednesday night just past and of course I had to stay up past mid-night for that. But I am glad that I got in to both sessions.

Here comes some of my new pots:

These 2 bowls were made from the fall session, glazed with black and Mysterious Blue. I really like this combination and I am sure I will be using this combination very often.

So, the winter session started off with mug fever, here are the mugs I've made. There are quite unique in a way.

Maybe these 2 should be called cups. There are glazed with black and "runny" butter.

Speaking of "runny" the kermit green and dark clear green is the most "runny" combination. But, I have to say that this is also one of the best combination. However, I won't be using it much more because not only that this combination is very runny, it also doesn't stick too well. The big mug in this picture has a bare spot unfortunately and this isn't the first time, but I think it will be the last. :(

Pottery girl has been quite productive

Like I mentioned last time, since I didn’t have a show in December and didn’t spend much time outside this winter, I was able to spend more time in the studio. As a result, I actually have some finished pieces ready! I opened the kiln earlier this afternoon for my second glaze firing of the year (can you believe my 2nd glaze firing in April, this has never happened before)—here they are (sorry about the lighting…). The bottom shelf, the initial picture didn't work out and I had to take another one 2nd shelf with pieces that I did slip trail. This is my first time doing this and I quite like the result. 3rd shelf Top shelf I’ve also been trying out a new look for my mug handles, but they didn’t make it into this firing. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the next update!

Toothbrush holder's new owner

We delivered the toothbrush holder to own friends, Matt and Kana to "match" up with the soap dispenser they bought from me from the show last November. They seems to like it. :)

2019 wasn't a good pottery year

Welcome to the first day of 2020! Can't believe that this is my first post since last January?! What'd happened to 2019? Yes, just like the title says, 2019 really wasn't a good pottery year. It started out strong in January and then it'd gone downhill. :( Last January, I kept in touch with the lady who interested in some plates and bowls. I started making those plates back then, however, she'd written back to have those on hold. It was perfectly fine for me as I was only seeking for new ideas. I managed to make 7 plates and was quite pleased with them. Unfortunately work got really busy in the first half of the year. I did a lot of overtime and really didn't have time to make any new pieces. Then the Summer came, many weekends were spent on the golf courses. Again pottery didn't make it to the priority list.
